Schönes Hochbeet

filling and location

Before a raised bed can even be filled, it needs to be optimally aligned in your garden. A north-south orientation would be best here.

The special advantage of a raised bed is, on the one hand, the optimum working height and, on the other hand, the lower layers of the filling. This is where the rotting heat is generated, which increases the soil temperature in the root area of the plants by up to 5 degrees and thus enables an earlier harvest.

phases of filling

1. BRANCHES AND BRANCHES

The foundation of the raised bed is the basis that ensures that there is sufficient ventilation from below. In addition, this is essential for even rotting.

2. FINE WOOD CHIPS OR GRASS

This layer is essential for the correct cultivation of your plants and vegetables. It prevents smaller components from trickling through from above. These components are organisms that serve as nutrients for growth.

3. COMPOST AND FOLIAGE FROM THE GARDEN

Heat is generated in the core of the raised bed. This heat is in turn important to supply the nutrients. Lawn clippings and leaves are particularly suitable for this.

4. FINE GARDEN SOIL

Good garden soil not only lets the top layer of your raised bed shine, it also offers optimal conditions for best root penetration and optimal plant growth.
